My Story

A senior leader with a proven track record of increasing profit, Don brings over 30 years of P&L experience working with large organizations in Fortune 500 companies around the world as well as small Private Equity clients to drive aggressive EBITDA growth through performance improvement.

Don combines over three decades of real life, in-the-trenches business experience, business development, internal/external consulting and management experience to employ a bold, collaborative and learning  approach to leadership in multiple industries – Textile, Paper, Chemical, Mining, Oil and Gas, Distribution, and Sustainability.

Over the last three decades, Don has led numerous growth initiatives and turnaround scenarios that include:

  • Operational performance transformation through the use of technology, Lean and Six Sigma quality methodologies – to address intense competition, customer and profitability pressures
  • Strategies to manage risk – EHS, Financial Volatility, Intellectual Property
  • Standardized capital and operational growth platform replicated 14 times Globally
  • Numerous due diligence efforts and expansion site selection efforts including China
  • Multiple M&A integration’s
  • Technical Advisory and Joint Venture Board roles
  • Revamping and redefining the capital strategy/deployment process (benchmarked as top performance by Independent Project Analysis)
  • Product Management including Launching/commercialization of 15 new product lines as well as participating in Brand management and development (Lycra experience)
  • Execution of a complete organizational redesign multiple times
  • Talent management strategies to innovate and expand businesses as well as develop succession candidates

 

Don has extensive knowledge of Business Management, (P&L), Customer Intimacy, Sales Management, Lean Six Sigma Manufacturing Practices, Strategy Deployment, Turnaround Management, Operational Restructuring, Adaptive and Advanced Work Systems, Change Management, Talent Management, Risk Management, Operations Excellence, Safety Management, and Quality Management.

He has experience in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, South America, Asia and parts of Africa in privately held, public companies and a New Technology Start-Up with as many as seventy thousand employees or as few as thirty. This includes several expatriate assignments in Europe and Asia. Don’s primary language is English.
